In the morning I was watching the Tour de France together with my team mates Burry and Todd.
It did not thrill me though. I was only jealous of them, because they had great weather, and here the rain came down sideways and it was cold.
Luckily before our start the rain stopped and the course dried up a little.
One of my bikes had a complete rain setup, so I only had to jump on that one.
My start has been like at most other races lately: slow! But this time I was involved in a crash too, and when going into the first single trail it was traffic jam. Just be passionate, but it is hard to think when know how fast the leading riders fly through those sections.
Anyway after a couple laps I started to move almost into top ten, but then the first flat tire hit me. I have lost my motivation a little, since it was hard labour to pass all those riders, and suddenly you have to chase again.
The second flat tire one lap later just gave me the real "gong" and I was done with it.
I really hope for a dry race next weekend in Bromont!
