6 laps, 1.55h
Second Place, 1.25min down to winner Fredrik Kessiakoff

Once again sunny clear skies prevailed for the men’s race on Saurday afternoon. The race podium positions were being decided very early on with Freddy Kessiakoff, Christoph and Hermida setting the early pace at the front, while a little further back Paulisson, Fumic and Jakob Fulesgang were fighting their own battle. As always Absalon, who has sealed the overall world cup final sat back in about 20th position, more focused on helping his fellow Orbea rider.

Although, Hermida tried to dictate things, Kessiakoff had his own fire burning today. After an attack by Hermida Kessiakoff launched his own, which neither Christoph nor Hermida could follow. Kessiakoff went clear to hold over a one minute lead, which Hermida looked destined for second and Christoph for third. On the 5th of 7 laps, the tables turned, following some aggressive riding by Christoph who moved up to second, with Hermida fading ever so slightly. Fumic also raised his game in these latter stages, by moving up to third place, with Hermida finally finishing in fourth.

Christoph would like to have own here today, but was still content with his race. Kessiakoff recorded his first ever world cup win, which naturally he was very pleased with.
