Second Place, 7sec. behind winner, Jose Hermida
With two very good weeks of training in the altitude of St.Moritz, I came home for two nights to race the Swisspower Final in Bern, and also to pack the final stuff for the worlds in Livigno.
Bern was a kind of final test before the "big bang" of the season in one week.
I did not feel so good during the whole race long. My acceleration at the beginning of the climbs was not like a formula one car. I think that I have to rest well this week!
Straight after the start, Jose made up a time advantage of 30sec and I already thought we would never see him again. All the time I rode with my old team mate, Kashi Leuchs, with me doing the leading. With two laps to go, Kashi started to feel better, and with him in the lead we caught Jose. Everything was about the last super steep climb up to the finish line. Even with the super cheering spectators I could not react to Jose's final turbo climbing and I lost 7sec. towards the finish line.
