Saturday, Short Track
20min., Place: 6th.
It was short but very tough racing as usual, and you really count down the laps as long as you're not just seeing stars in front of your eyes...
My start was pretty decent, but I was never in contention. I wish I was up there, because there was a pretty good cheering crowd. Anyway I also got excited as I was riding most the time around 5-10th. place, and there is still enough time to turn my diesel motor into a racing gas mode!
Sunday, Cross Country
1.30h Place: 13th.
I was suffering from the beginning to the end...
On this super fast course with lots of cornering, and where everybody sprinted up the short climbs full on I struggled from A-Z!
After the frist lap there was a leading group formed of 20 riders and I was just close behind but could not close the cap on the flats any more.
Like this, the race excitment was over and I was always riding or suffering in a smaller group. We were able to catch a few riders who dropped back, but that was it for the day.
Next Saturday I ride a road criterium before I head to San Francisco the next day for the Sea Otter Classic.
