Friday, Sprint Race
3.35min Finish Position: 16th

A late evening Prologue in the middle of town in Sarnen on paved road.
I was never up in the front positions, so it was a good "wake up call" for tomorrow's XC... I have not competed in a mt-bike race for a month!

Saturday, XC
1.30h Finish Position: First

It took me two laps until I was in race mode again, and after the middle of the race it was only Thomas Frischknecht, Kiwis Kashi Leuchs and myself riding together in the front.
In the second last lap Frischi could not hold on any more, and on the last few kilometres it was Kashi who had let go. My team mate, Roel Paulissen, finished forth.

Sunday, Marathon
3.51h Finish Position: First

I really enjoyed the realaxed start in the early morning sun!
20 minutes before the take off I was still drinking coffee on our hotel's terrasse!

After the first long climb the whole field was big time spread out already, and after the downhill it was only Roel Paulissen and myself leading the race.
I knew the course from last year already and this was a big advantage. I always gave Roel information about the next climb and so on.
After I told him -going into the last climb- that this climb is more than a hour long and very steep, it broke his motivation a little bit and he let me go.
Finally I won my second straight marathon this year, after the Garda in Italy.

The overall results for the tour were: 1st me, 2nd Roel and 3rd Kashi.

This weekend I rode my new Carbon Scalpel (like six/13 road bike) for the first time. The Cannondale engineers put a huge effort into this bike to get it ready for the Olympics.
How good this bike is! So light and stiff! It feels like all the pedal power is transmitted straight into the wheels.

Pictures of it will be online very soon!
