2.03h (8 seconds behind first) Place: second

During the warm up I felt like my legs just needed a small start push, but for the rest they spun automaticly.

It was a new, shitty start here in Houffalize. A long, very wide asphalt climb, followed by a smaller gravel road. Even in the second line riding up the asphalt there was no chance to move. On the gravel road I just took the rough lines and finally I got up there.
My team mate, Roel Paulissen, was already ahead and I did not know what to do, because you don't wanna lead the other riders up to him. At the beginning of a long climb I tried to "jump" into the gap and luckily Miguel Martinez could not follow. From that point on it was Roel and myself riding all the race together. Steady and safe. At the end we had a lead of almost 4min! I don't know when such a huge gap happened the last time in a world cup.
For me and the team in was clear the Roel was going to win on his home turf and like this he is also in the leader jersey. A great result for us, the Siemens Mobile-Cannondale Team.
