1.52h Place: 3th
Kick off for the third Swiss Cup of the season for me. Ok, for me it was more of a "slow off" then anything else!
Had not the krispy legs for the brutal start climb and I was way behind already, probably also because somehow my rear quick release came open! It was a very wobbly feeling like a flat tire and after that the field got spread out more. I made a quick fix rear wheel stop and remounted my bike to begin the chase.
It took me a while to fight my way up to the leader group, and right at this moment Kashi Leuchs attacked from the front! We never saw him again...
It was all about riding for second place with Julien Absalon and Polish champ Marcin Karczynski. In the second last lap of four, these two forced the tempo that I could not keep up any more. Luckily for me Marcim slowed down big time in the last lap and this was good for my morale to pass him and I went for third.
I was training very hard the last two week. Now I am taking it very easy this week and keep on resting very well for the Europeans.
