Street Race Eliminator
Short 6min town race with a lot of corners. I only managed to stay in the race for the second of four rounds and after I could go and jump into the clear and warm lake of Sarnen. The best recovery for my muscle pain I still had from my GYM session the day before.

XC-Race 1.30h Place: 7th
It was not my lucky race today. I already hit a tree with my bar end in the first lap and I had a nice fall into the bushes. After I'd almost made up the lost seconds again my chain disappeared in between my spokes and cassette. Taking the wheel out and trying to get everything in place took it's time and this happened two more times during the race. Well, with the time I got faster and faster to fix the problem, but for sure tomorrow the rear derailleur will be better adjusted! I should know not to race with a brand new bike and not riding it before!

Marathon-Race 78 km, 3000 elevation meters

I was really looking forward to my first long lap race since the Tour VTT '98
Starting at 8 o'clock means getting up 2 hours earlier. Had a big carbo meal the night before and in the morning just a good Sponser carbo vitamin drink. On a race like this you have time to eat during the race, and I wanted to start with a light stomach feeling.
With only an hour in the race, we were only 6 riders into the first major super steep downhill. I took over the lead there, but I was testing new brake pads which was not a good idea for a marathon race. They got so hot and suddenly I lost my brake pads front and rear at the same time. I survived by jumping immediately off the bike.
But this was not the worst. I had to walk down all the way to the next mechanic support tent, which took me more then 20min. I hate bike walking during nice downhill sections!
After getting new brake pads I was back into the race again, but the race spirit was pretty much gone. Oh well, at least I could enjoy the spectacular view for the rest of the day!
