1.53h Place: second
The course is very technical and demanding. So no wonder that already after the first lap the whole leading group got down to only 6 riders, and with half of the race it cut down to half again.
Sure, I was excited to be there as well, but unfortunately I was in good company with overall second and third ranked Lado Fumic and Julien Absalon. With one lap to go I attacked, but Absalon was still on my wheel. Not for long though, because he re-attacked and I could not keep up with him anymore. With seeing the winning chance blowing up into the air today, I just tried to save my second place.
Absalon has now only ten points less than me in the overall. So, I really have to keep up with doing smart training and recovering for the next world cup in two weeks.
