1.54h Place: 4th
Actutually this technical course with a 6min. climb should have been even better for me compared to the fast one in St.Wendel.
I really felt strong for the first 3 of 6 laps, but then I started to feel cramps in my legs which got worse and worse towards the end. Well, this pain is also a part of your body's racing reaction and no excuse at all.
I have never experienced cramps before, and I just do not like to get an extra racing pain that slows me down during a race.
I lost the contact on the last lap to today's winner Filip Meirhaeghe and Lado Fumic at the beginning of a flat section where I could no longer close a 10meter hole.
Coming towards the finish with Frenchman Julien Absalon I was so tired that I sucked in one of the last corners and he had no problem to pass me there for third.
In one month is it world cup time in Canada, and will try hard to defend my leader jersey again!
